Projecting and Planning

Getting ready for the future is what the school's
administration is doing now and will be doing for a
long time to come. Presently the new building and
the Carnegie School model are the focuses of con-
cern, but ultimately they become effecting better
educations for district children.

FACULTY/PERSONNEL

Carnegie School, NEAS&C, and New Building

Teaching students is the primary job of teachers,
but other obligations result from that major role.
This year the faculty has been involved, along with
the administration and personnel, in three major
projects. The Carnegie Model School project is now
into its second year of meetings, meetings, and more
meetings. Accreditation self-study through the
NEAS&C occupied our attention and energies for
eighteen months and ended with a visiting
committee's four-day stay at the end of October.
Finally, the new building project, with its thousands
of details, is now demanding close scrutiny and con-
sideration.

The JV and Varsity each had dismal seasons. The JV won their final game for their first win. The Varsity
season was heightened by a victory over Northern power, Pittsfield, and a come from behind 6-5 win over Lee
which was highlighted by Ian Law's game winning home run.

SOFTBALL

Stunning the Opponents by

Dianne Bettis

Mr. Krol returned to coach the girls' Softball team who were stiff competition, even
after several changes in positions. After hearing many negative remarks from coaches
around Berkshire County, the Lady Eagles stunned their opponents with an aggres-
sive season.

Next year's Softball season should prove to be one of the best with many returning
members, as well as new faces.

BOYS' SOCCER

A New Coach by Patrick McBride

The season started off with a breath of fresh air! Seung Hyun Choi, the new coach |
at Mt. Everett, helped the Eagles in their quest for success. However, with our
losing record, we had to rely on our sense of humor to help us through the season

It was a learning
season for
everyone, even the
coach. Even
though we didn't
have a winning
season everyone
gave it their
all.-Matt Seavey

GIRLS' SOCCER

Lady Eagles Are Impressive by Dianne Bettis

The Lady Eagles (soccer) improved greatly this year. After a season of 1-14-1, the Lady Eagles soared into an
8-5-3 record with a Western Mass Tournament seed.

Mona Hagenbo, a Swedish exchange student, helped boost the Eagles as well as the returning lettermen and
many newcomers. As next year rolls around, we will expect great efforts and successes from our returning
players.

This year was a building year for the Lady Eagles. The var-

sophomores and one senior. The Eagles gained much
respect from other teams throughout the league, earning a
reputation of being an aggressive, scrappy team.

WRESTLERS

Winning the War

byDanLanoue

This season the Mt. Everett Wrestlers were plagued by ill-
ness and injury, but that did not halt individuals' steam-
roller assault. All the wrestlers tried to perform at their
highest levels. According to Coach Proietti, " It's a young
team that will look good in the future . We're winning a
lot of the battles, if not the war."

CHEERLEADING

Accomplished Goals

by Yvette Hitchcock

Cheerleading is an activity that requires agility and strength.
The eight cheerleaders accomplished many of their goals, from a
new dance routine to exhilarating mounts and cheers. Practice invol-
ves much time and concentration and, of course, tons of energy to
learn and perform cheers with great agility. The girls added spirit to
the games they attended.

Epilogue

In Memory

Amy Gillette
1976 -- 1990

Remembering You

As I pause to think about you,
Questions flow, mingled with tears.
It all seems so senseless;
You were given so few years.
Yet those years were blessed ones,
Full of friends who cared.
The good times, hopes, and dreams --
We 11 remember all we shared.
Though we do not understand,
We re thankful for that while,
Glad we have the good times
To remember with a smile.

Kelly Sullivan
1977 -- 1989

Dedication

Mrs. Sabina Ullrich is retiring after 24 vears
of faithful service to Mount Everett. She has
held a variety of secretarial positions during this
time. We will all miss her cheerful smile in the
morning as we pass the information office.
